VR Cargo Oy - Finnish Railways is the state owned railway company. Finland has a railway network of 5859 km. The railway from Finland to St.Petersburg was built in 1875, and this can be regarded as the start of co-operation of railway activities between Finland and Russia.

As is already well known, Finland and Russia have the same rail gauge. There are four crossing points on the Finnish border: Vainikkala, Imatrankoski, Niirala and the northermost border station, Vartius. Finland is the only EU country sharing a border with Russia.

In co-operation with VR Cargo, Alfatrans offers a wide range of transport solutions, and good and reliable transit service through Finland.

ZAO MIDAS - Road Transportations

Alfatrans has established a co-operation agreement with one of the leading Russian transport company. Zao Midas was established 1997 and during 2008 they carried 10.000 loads with a fleet of 200 truck. 120-160 m3 tilt trailers and container sites for 20', 40' and 45' containers.
